Are You Letting Past Regrets and Mistakes Hold You Back?

Do you ever wish that you could take a big magic eraser and remove some of the choices you have made in life? The eraser would remove those bad mistakes and allow a redo. Unfortunately, those types of erasers do not exist. If they did they would fly off the shelves and never be in stock because someone would always be looking for one for a chance to remove a past decision.

We all have made mistakes and bad choices. Regret is something else. There are no chances to go back and change what is already done. There is no option for a do-over. The past is the past and there is no going back to change anything. Although we cannot physically go back to the past, a lot of times we allow our minds to stay there.

The past can be haunting and it can hold you back if allowed. Holding on to past regrets and wallowing in the shoulda, woulda, couldas can keep you stuck. You can’t change the past. You can’t go back and undo what is already done. Maybe you had a dream that you never went after and every day you wonder what life would be like if you pursued it. Maybe you

Whatever the regrets are, they can keep you stuck and hinder your progress. They can cause you to sink further and further into the mental lake of the past. If you keep this mindset you are not allowing yourself to be present for today.

The good news is that your past does not define you. Through Christ, you can be made a new woman and free yourself from the past. He can help you let go of that past hurt so you can move on to a better brighter future. Past regrets and mistakes can make you stronger and better. Use them as wisdom to carry with you for the rest of your life. You can now say been there, done that. learned from it, and now better from it!

Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
