Tips On How To Enjoy A First Date

Dating in today’s world is not easy. Especially since it seems morals are becoming more a thing of the past. Trying to find someone genuine, God-fearing, and what we call a “good man” can be discouraging. There are a lot of frogs that will never turn into princes even when kissed and there are a lot of dogs dressed up in designer suits with good-smelling cologne. Dating is just part of the process that helps weed them all out. Although it can be draining, taking some of the pressure off can help make dating less stressful and more enjoyable.

Get all cute and stuff- What better excuse to pamper yourself than getting ready for a first date? It’s also a good excuse to buy a new outfit or wear that dress in the back of your closet with the tag still on it. You can even try out a new lipgloss or fragrance. Wear what makes you not only comfortable but also makes you feel your best.

Don’t over think it- It’s not a wedding it’s just a date. The first one at that. A lot of times we as women can put so much pressure on the first date and have expectations that are unrealistic. He is not going to be perfect and neither are you. Don’t try to figure out what your kids will look like in the first five minutes or if your parents will like him. Keep it simple. Look at it as a night out to enjoy yourself.

Pick something you enjoy- Maybe a new comedy club, an activity, or an event; select something that you know you will more than likely have fun doing. This way if your date isn’t the most exciting person, you can avoid the awkard dinner talk and still have a good time.

Remember, the first date is one of the first steps in getting to know a person. It could be the beginning of something beautiful. There could be a date two, three, and more. If not, that’s okay too. You can dust yourself off, and have fun again on another first date.
