Life is busy. As a matter of fact, at times it can feel too busy to the point where it seems like there is no time for some peace and quiet. Peace is important. Sometimes it truly takes some strength and determination to tune out the outside world and focus on getting some peaceful me time.

From our daily responsibilities and full calendars, social media notifications, emails, and all the other distractions, it’s easy to go from day to day feeling overwhelmed. Our society has normalized the rush, stress and hustle and bustle of everyday life. We are taught to keep going and going, which leaves no time to focus on self-care. Just because society doesn’t prioritize it, that doesn’t mean you can’t put it at the top of your daily list.
Sometimes you have to get off Twitter and Instagram. Sometimes you have to turn off that reality show. There are even times when you have to tell your best friend “Hey girl, I can’t talk right now but will give you a call back tomorrow.” You may even have to let that laundry stay in the hamper for another night. Getting everything done that day may not happen. Some things can actually wait and it’s okay.
You have to make it a priority that you are getting your peace for the day. Take a moment to find at least fifteen minutes of peace. Fifteen minutes where you can focus on your thoughts, prayers, read a few scriptures in your bible or an inspirational book, to get some quality me time. If you are determined to make it happen, you can have daily peace in the midst of a hectic world if you choose.
