It’s easy to forget the importance that friendship can have in our lives. Oftentimes the older we get, the fewer people we call friends. Typically children are quick to call their classmates and those around their same age friends. Even if they have only known that child for five minutes on the playground. By the time they are done running around and going down the slide, they are calling each other friends. However, as adults, the less we throw that word around and realize that a real friend is hard to find.
Who you walk with matters to your life as a woman, as a Christian, and as a human being. A true friend will encourage you to be your best self. Someone, you can be your authentic self around and tell all your secrets to in confidence. You know they will not go around telling all your business. They are a shoulder to lean and cry on.
As a matter of fact, they are at the door holding the tissue waiting on you to let it all out in the moments you don’t feel your best.

There are so many “fake friends” in the world. We all at one time or another have probably experienced one. The kind of friend that pretends to want good things for you, but in the background, is jealous and secretly wants you to fail. That friend is threatened at the thought of you actually being happy and prefers to keep you stuck where they are or behind them, so they can feel better about themselves. With friends like these, who needs enemies?
True friends don’t behave like that. They will want you to be your best self and will tell you the truth regardless of whether you want to hear it or not. They will encourage your greatness and participate in it. They will hold your hand through the good and the bad. Will love you at your best and love you even harder at your worst. Who you walk with has an impact on your life. Surrounding yourself with friends that feed you positivity and support, helps make you a better you.
