Black Beauty Brands Available at Ulta, Target and Sephora
Many black women will probably agree that finding make up to match our skin tone and products that are good for our various hair types can be a challenge. A lot of beauty products do not cater to our specific needs and going to the store in search of the right one can be more like finding a needle in a haystack. Thankfully, in recent years, more black beauty brands have been created. Making it just a little easier to find products that are a good fit. Retailers such as Target, Ulta, and Sephora, have plenty of black owned brands to choose from.
Ulta- One of my favorite black owned beauty brands available at Ulta is Black Opal which was recently acquried by Desiree Rogers and Cheryl Mayberry McKissack. I have tried a variety of foundations over the years, but Black Opal hands down is the winner in my book. I buy the shade Beautiful Bronze and it matches my skin perfectly. Plus, it’s under $12. Come on, you can’t beat that.

Target- Have you noticed they really stepped up their beauty game over the past five years? Target has a great selection of beauty and hair care products that are very budget friendly. Including the Lip Bar-created by Melissa Butler who started making lipstick in her kitchen by using natural ingredients. As well as other prodcuts such as Black Girl Sunscreen created by Shontay Lundy.
Sephora– Those of us with natural hair know the challenges of finding products that work. Sephora has some brands to choose from including Melanin Haircare created by sisters Taffeta and Whitney White in 2015. This brand focuses on safe, high quality, and natural ingredients while also being affordable.
So don’t get discouraged Queens, there are plenty of brands out there keeping your beauty needs in mind.
