It is a natural human emotion to feel fear. Who isn’t fearful of something at one point or another in life? Harriet Tubman was probably fearful when she led slaves to freedom. Martin Luther King Jr. was probably fearful when he marched and fought for equality. They were regular people just like us, but when they pushed past that fear and kept the faith, they were able to move mountains and accomplish extraordinary things.
What great things would you try to accomplish in your life if you were not afraid? Would you go after a dream that fell the wayside? Would you repair a damaged relationship with a loved one? Would you try a new hobby or travel to a destination that’s on your bucket list?
You see the problem isn’t being fearful. It’s when we live in fear that can be a problem. It can stop us right in our tracks from reaching a much greater destination. Living in fear can be limiting and restricting. There are plenty of goals and dreams I have not even attempted to go after all because of fear. The older I get the more I realize that I can no longer allow it to have such a tight grip. Have you allowed it to hold you back? Fear of not being good enough. Fear of failure. Fear that you don’t have it in you to reach the full potential God has for you.
No longer allow yourself to be fear’s victim. Your heavenly father has not given you the spirit of fear. It’s time to live!
