You Might Look Pretty…But How Do You Feel?
As women, it’s natural for us to want to feel beautiful. Many of us cannot resist wanting to try new things with our looks. From experimenting with countless hairstyles to lash extensions, lipstick shades, and the various colors on eyeshadow pallets, we’re on a continual quest for that perfect, selfie social media-worthy image.
There are millions of products that promise to help achieve your desired look. Walking down the beauty aisles can make you feel like a kid in a candy store. There are so many choices from creams that promise to get rid of wrinkles to mascara that gives you the perfect long lashes. The beauty industry isn’t a billion-dollar industry for nothing. It sells the hope of getting close to perfection and most of us enjoy buying into it. No matter how many outside enhancements we pile on, if the inner beauty isn’t shining through. It’s like having a top-of-the-line refrigerator in your home, but when opened there is never food in it. Beauty is only skin-deep, and if you are not feeling beautiful on the inside, you will never find enough products to cover up those insecurities.
Before you even begin to glam up for the day, remember to embrace the fact that true beauty starts from within. You are already beautiful and there is no need to wait for someone else to tell you this. Too often we look to others for validation when we have the choice to be our own cheerleader. A nice pair of heels, the latest hairstyle, and flawless makeup can of course always enhance your appearance.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying being glammed up. There is nothing wrong with getting dressed as if you are about to go and slay somebody’s runway. Just remember they are only accessories because your beauty shines through from the beautiful person that lies within you. So Queen, embrace your uniqueness as well as your flaws. Knowing that loving yourself completely and understanding your worth is the beginning of true beauty.
