At Living in Queendom, we are committed to empowering and encouraging Black women to become our best selves! We carry so much, not because we are superhuman, but because we’ve had to navigate systems that were never designed with us in mind. Add to that the cultural foods we grew up on, the stress we’ve normalized, and the responsibilities we shoulder daily, and it’s no surprise that this weight often shows up in our health. We are disproportionately affected by health conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes just to name a few. These aren’t just health conditions, they are lived experiences that shape how we feel, function, and move through the world.
But here’s the good news: There are plenty of Black women doing the work that you can find on YouTube. They are teaching, guiding, and leading with wisdom, science, expertise, and heart to help us nourish ourselves in ways that truly support our healing.

Why Shanon Became a Dietitian?
“I became a dietitian to teach people how to use food as medicine by taking a holistic approach to health. By doing this, I believe that clients will be able to reach their desired goals, prevent diseases from happening, and put certain conditions in remission, all while improving their overall well‑being so that they can become the best version of themselves — body, mind, and spirit.”
At The Nourish Center, wellness isn’t reduced to calories, macros, or quick fixes. It’s a whole‑person approach — body, mind, and spirit working together in harmony. Shanon and her team understand that true health is not just about eating right; it’s about complete well‑being. Whether someone is navigating diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol concerns, or simply wants more energy, The Nourish Center meets them exactly where they are and walks with them toward transformation.
