There you are. Standing on the other side of your breakthrough. And can we just take a moment to acknowledge something? You made it. Not only did you make it, but somehow, by the grace of God, you managed to survive the battle, keep your crown on, and didn’t lose your mind in the process. Because let’s be honest it was not easy.
Take a look back at where you were. Think about the prayers you prayed. Think about the nights you couldn’t sleep. Think about the tears God collected. Think about the number of times you said, “Lord, if You don’t step in, I don’t know what I’m going to do.” Then look at where you are now. You’re still here, standing, praising, and testifying. You are on the other side of it.
There were days when you felt strong and full of faith, and there were other days when all you could do was stare out the window, sip your coffee, and whisper a sanctified “woo-sah” before responding to people. There were moments when you had to walk away, pray before you spoke, and remind yourself that the battle was not yours but the Lord’s.
And then one day, you looked up and realized that the thing you had been praying about was no longer the thing you were crying about. God had moved. That battle you thought you would never make it out of? You made it. That mountain that looked like it had taken up permanent space in your life? God moved it. That storm that had you wondering how you were going to make it through? The seas have calmed, and you’re still standing. And that’s worth celebrating. But don’t rush past this moment.
Don’t Forget to Praise Him After the Breakthrough
When we’re in the middle of a storm, we know how to pray. I’m talking about those long long Deacon prayers on Sunday mornings during devotion back in the day when we were kids. We know how to seek God. We know how to cry out, fast, worship, and ask Him to move. We know how to say, “Lord, I need You.” And we should. But sometimes, once the storm passes and life starts feeling a little lighter, our urgency fades. The prayers aren’t quite as frequent. The seeking isn’t quite as intentional. Not because we stop loving God, but because comfort has a way of making us forget how much we need Him.

The truth is, we need God just as much in our victories as we do in our valleys. We need Him when we’re crying just as much as we need Him when we’re celebrating. We need Him when we’re waiting for the breakthrough and when we’re standing in the middle of it. That’s why it’s important to pause and remember what God has already done. Here are 10 Scriptures to remind you of God’s power and His faithfulness.
1. Psalm 126:3
“Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!”
2. Exodus 15:2
“The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him!”
3. Psalm 98:1
“Sing a new song to the Lord, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his saving power!”
4. Deuteronomy 20:4
“For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!”
5. 1 Corinthians 15:57
“But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
6. Romans 8:37
“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.”
7. Psalm 107:1
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.”
8. Psalm 28:7
“The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”
9. 2 Corinthians 2:14
“But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume.”
10. Lamentations 3:22–23
“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
Don’t Forget What God Brought You Through
So before you move on to the next prayer request, the next goal on your vision board, sis, and the next thing you’re asking God to do, stop long enough to praise Him for what He’s already done. Because the same God who walked with you through the valley deserves worship now that you’re standing on the mountaintop.
And don’t forget your testimony. You have a story to tell. It’s the story you’ll tell another woman when she’s facing her own fiery furnace. It’s the encouragement you’ll give when someone else can’t see a way out. It’s the reminder that God is still a deliverer, still a way maker, still a promise keeper.
You made it through the fire. You came out of the lions’ den. You stood on the other side of the mountain. And now you have something that nobody can take away from you: your testimony. So keep praying, seeking, and thanking Him. Keep worshipping Him, even when everything is going right. Because the God you cried out to in the valley is the same God you should be praising on the mountaintop. Won’t He do it? Now go ahead and have yourself a holy shout, the kind where the wig may fall off and the lashes may pop. No judgment here!
