Sunday Royal Tea Time (Queen’s Lets Reflect) Are You Making Room For God’s Greater?

Last Sunday, the praise team at my church sung a song that has been on my heart all week. I can’t stop singing the lyrics, “I’m expecting great things. I’m expecting great things.” So often we spend our time asking God for greater while continuing to live as though we’ll be in our current season forever. We pray for new opportunities, bigger platforms, healthier environments, financial increase, healing, and purpose. Yet sometimes God is asking us a simple question: If I answered your prayer tomorrow, would you be ready to move? Grab your “leave me alone it’s quiet time” mug and come sit with me.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to posture yourself for what’s next. Not because you know exactly when God will move, but because you trust that He will. There is a difference between waiting and preparing. Waiting says, “Maybe one day.” Preparing says, “Whenever the door opens, I’m ready.” Sometimes preparation doesn’t look glamorous. It looks like getting your finances in order. It looks like finishing that degree you started. It looks like making room for that husband. It looks like learning new skills. It looks like organizing your life, your mind, and your spirit for the next chapter.

Sometimes it even means loosening your grip on places that no longer feel like home. One of the greatest acts of faith is not simply believing God for greater. It’s arranging your life with the expectation that greater is coming. Noah built an ark before he saw rain. David was anointed king long before he sat on the throne. Joseph spent years developing character and leadership before stepping into the position God had prepared for him. None of them knew exactly when their breakthrough would come, but they lived in preparation for it. All of these are lessons and reminders for us.

Don’t allow disappointment to stop your preparation. Don’t allow waiting to make you comfortable in a place God may only intend to be temporary. Don’t allow today’s circumstances to convince you that tomorrow cannot be different.

Stop waiting like you’re stuck and start preparing like you’re expecting. Too often we ask God for greater while holding on tightly to our current season. But faith isn’t just believing that God will open a door. It’s positioning yourself to walk through it when He does. Whether you’re praying for a new opportunity, healing, growth, or a fresh start, preparation is part of the process.

This Week’s Tea: Take a look around your life and ask yourself: Am I preparing for what I’ve been praying for, because I sure am! Sometimes the greatest act of faith is not waiting for God to move, but making room for the blessing you believe is coming.
